Silly City

Silly City is a innovative program that invites kids to interpret local architectural gems with paint and recycled cardboard in an artful, wacky manner - no rulers allowed! Historic monuments, famous buildings, houses and neighborhood landmarks are transformed through the children’s imagination into wild and funky creations through the simple magic of paint on cardboard.

Originally conceived by master art teacher Robyn Miller, this fun and functional program teaches kids to take a closer look at their surroundings with an eye towards scale, structure, materials and historical impact.

With Robyn’s encouragement, the kids have amplified her original idea by adding hundreds
of people, animals, trees, cars, and park benches. Over the years, the collection has grown
to more than 600 works made by more than 250 children. Each individual building, person, car, and tree is made by a different child. The sky’s the limit!

We are eager to add architectural gems from cities and towns throughout the country.
